Our Story

Bees & Beads began as an invitation to create something meaningful.

Our beeswax candles were first made for Laurene’s women’s group—a small, intentional sharing circle rooted in nature, ritual, and connection. Lighting a candle marked the beginning of that time together, helping everyone slow down, arrive fully, and honor the space they were creating. Those early gatherings shaped the heart of this work.

From there, Bees & Beads grew naturally, shaped by experience and what felt true to us.

How the Bracelets Came to Be

The bracelets grew out of a very personal place.

As we began working more intentionally with gemstones—learning their properties, sourcing them carefully, and spending time connecting with the energies each stone carries—we experienced how grounding that process could be. Creating bracelets became a hands-on way of working with what each stone offers. These pieces were created to be worn and lived with, becoming part of everyday life.

During a time when Evan was navigating hearing loss and surgery, working closely with gemstones became a meaningful and grounding part of his healing journey. Selecting stones, creating bracelets, and being mindful about what surrounded us offered a sense of balance, focus, and steadiness during that time.

That experience continues to shape how we approach everything we make.

Why This Work Matters to Us

Bees & Beads exists because we’ve seen how intention changes experience.

We believe that everyday rituals—lighting a candle, wearing something made with care, taking a moment to pause—can help ground us and bring clarity, especially during times of transition. Our candles and jewelry are created with this in mind: not to tell anyone how to live, but to support presence, reflection, and intention in daily life.

What Sets Our Work Apart

Quality matters—deeply.

The rarity and integrity of the stones we work with make a meaningful difference. Many bracelets on the market today are pre-made overseas using inexpensive or heavily treated stones, often produced in conditions disconnected from care or transparency. That approach has never aligned with who we are.

The same standard applies to our beeswax.

It took time to find a source that met our expectations—consistent quality, careful attention to beekeeping, and respect for the health of the bees and their hives. We chose relationship over convenience and integrity over speed. The result is beeswax we trust, sourced from people who care deeply about the work and the life it supports.

We believe you can feel that difference.

Intentional Sourcing, Always

Every material we use is chosen with care and respect.

We intentionally work with women-owned and values-aligned suppliers for our beeswax, gemstones, and findings whenever possible. Authenticity matters to us—not only in how our products look and feel, but in how they come into being.

We prioritize:

  • Pure beeswax, valued for its natural warmth, clean burn, and consistency

  • Authentic, high-quality gemstones, selected with integrity

  • Thoughtful sourcing, rooted in ethical relationships and shared values

If something doesn’t align with our standards, it doesn’t belong in our work.

From Our Hands to Yours

Bees & Beads is not just a business. It is a reflection of how we choose to live and engage with the world.

We are involved in our community, connected to the people we serve, and committed to offering work we genuinely believe in. Our hope is that what you bring into your life from Bees & Beads becomes part of your own story—grounded, meaningful, and lived with intention—just as this work has become part of ours.

With gratitude,
Laurene & Evan
